Inhabitants of the island of Kuchinoerabo in Japan are urged to flee from the path of an erupting volcano nearby.  Japan’s meteorological agency raised the alert level from three to the highest level of five.  All 140 island residents were requested to evacuate.  Pyroclastic flows, rock fragments, and hot gases have reached the island’s north-west shore.  Shinzo Abe, the prime minister had set up an emergency response team and instructed local authorities to do everything possible to ensure the islander’s safety.
