The Middle East Respiratory Syndrome is a viral illness caused by a corona virus, the same family of viruses that causes the common cold.  China is attempting to track down at least 193 people who came in contact with a man with Mers.  The Chinese media reported that a 68 year old male had flown into the Chep Lap Kok airport in Hong Kong and took a bus through Shenzhen crossing to Huizhou in southern Guandong.  Later on he had gone to a hospital and tested positive for Mers.

Health authorities in Guandong had cautioned that the disease was likely to spread due to the fact that he had been in crowded places.  Currently there is no known cure for the mystery virus.
